Rick has dedicated his career to the HVAC trade and to serving the Lincoln community. He began working at Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning in July 1981, shortly after graduating from high school, and has spent more than four decades learning every aspect of home comfort.

Rick earned his Master Mechanical License in April 1990 and has maintained it continuously ever since. His technical training includes certifications in NATE, ACCA Duct Design, ACCA Manual J Load Calculations, ACCA Manual S System Design, Energy Star Construction, and International Ground Source Heat Pump (Geothermal) Piping Design and Fusion. This depth of experience allows Rick to approach heating and cooling systems with a focus on proper design, long-term performance, and doing the job right the first time.

Beyond the field, Rick has been an active leader in the local HVAC and building community. He is a member of the Realtors Association of Lincoln and the Home Builders Association of Lincoln, and previously served on the board of the Lincoln Heating Association.

In April 2012, Rick and his wife Kim purchased Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning, continuing the company’s long-standing commitment to honest service, skilled craftsmanship, and local ownership. Today, Rick remains closely involved in the business, mentoring technicians and ensuring Harley’s standards of quality and integrity are upheld.

Outside of work, Rick enjoys fishing and spending time with his wife, children, and their dog, Mosley.

Kim has been the friendly voice of Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning since joining the company in May 2002. Before coming to Harley’s, she spent several years working for Lincoln Public Schools, bringing with her strong organizational skills and a commitment to serving the local community.

At Harley’s, Kim oversees the office operations, including accounting, bookkeeping, and scheduling, helping ensure that customers receive prompt, organized, and friendly service from the first phone call to the final invoice. Her attention to detail and steady presence keep the day-to-day operations running smoothly behind the scenes.

In April 2012, Kim and her husband Rick purchased Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning, continuing the company’s long tradition of local ownership and customer-focused service. Together, they remain actively involved in the business, supporting the team and maintaining the values Harley’s has been known for in Lincoln for generations.

Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and their dog, Mosley.

Matthew serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning, where he helps lead the company’s day-to-day operations, long-term strategy, and modernization efforts. As a third-generation member of the Harley’s family business, Matthew brings both a deep respect for the company’s five-decade legacy and a forward-looking, data-driven approach to home comfort.

Before returning to Harley’s, Matthew spent over 15 years as a scientist and educator, first earning a PhD in chemistry from the University of Nebraska, then  conducting research and teaching at the University of Washington. His background includes academic research, technology startups, and experience building complex systems grounded in real-world data and performance.

At Harley’s, Matthew focuses on applying that same analytical mindset to HVAC, with the goal of improving system design, installation quality, pricing transparency, and customer education. He is especially passionate about helping homeowners understand why their comfort systems behave the way they do — not just fixing symptoms.

Matthew works closely with Harley’s technicians, office staff, and customers to ensure the company remains independent, locally owned, and known for doing things the right way — combining craftsmanship, science, and integrity to deliver long-term comfort solutions for Lincoln families.

Lisa Shortridge serves as Director of Operations & Learning at Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning, where she focuses on building strong internal systems, developing people, and improving day-to-day operations.

Before joining Harley’s, Lisa spent nearly 20 years at PayPal, working her way up from customer-facing roles into leadership, training, and enterprise project management. Her experience includes designing and managing training programs, supporting large-scale tool and process launches, and leading cross-functional projects within PayPal’s Global Customer Services organization.

Most recently, Lisa served as a Business Project Manager, supporting initiatives tied to AI-driven tool development and transformation. In this role, she coordinated stakeholders, assessed risks and dependencies, and communicated progress to leadership—helping teams adapt to new systems and ways of working.

At Harley’s, Lisa brings this background to operations, onboarding, and continuous learning, ensuring the team has clear processes, strong support, and the tools needed to deliver consistent, high-quality service to Lincoln homeowners.

Brian joined the Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning team in March of 2010, bringing with him nearly two decades of HVAC experience from companies across Central Nebraska. His broad background in service and repair gives him a deep, practical understanding of the systems homeowners rely on every day.

As Service Manager, Brian plays a key role in supporting Harley’s technicians, maintaining service quality, and ensuring customers receive accurate diagnoses and reliable solutions. He regularly attends industry training courses and seminars and has earned multiple certifications, including Universal EPA, Factory Trained Technician for Residential Forced Air Equipment, and NATE.

Brian currently holds an Apprentice License from the state of Nebraska and is actively studying toward his Journeyman’s License, continuing his commitment to professional growth and technical excellence.

Outside of work, Brian enjoys playing bluegrass music and spending time with his wife and their dogs.

Randy joined the Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning team in March of 2019 after earning his A.A.S. in HVAC/R from Southeast Community College in Milford, Nebraska. He graduated in December 2018 and quickly established himself as a dependable, detail-oriented technician.

As Harley’s Lead Service & Maintenance Technician, Randy plays a central role in maintaining system reliability for homeowners throughout Lincoln. He specializes in preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and ensuring HVAC systems operate efficiently and safely over the long term.

Randy holds his EPA Universal Certification and an Apprentice License from the state of Nebraska and continues to build his technical expertise through hands-on experience and ongoing training.

Randy is fluent in Vietnamese, helping Harley’s better serve Lincoln’s diverse community and communicate clearly with more customers. His calm, thorough approach and commitment to quality make him a trusted technician for both customers and teammates.

Outside of work, Randy enjoys attending live music events and spending time with his family and friends.

Joe joined the Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning team in 2025 and has quickly become a trusted service technician known for his professionalism and calm approach with customers.

Before coming to Harley’s, Joe worked in apartment maintenance, where he gained hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing a wide range of heating and cooling issues while working in occupied homes. That background helped Joe develop strong communication skills and the ability to manage stressful or uncomfortable situations with patience and respect.

At Harley’s, Joe focuses on accurate troubleshooting, clear explanations, and helping customers feel comfortable and informed throughout the service process. His attention to detail and customer-first mindset have made him a favorite with many of the homeowners he serves.

Outside of work, Joe enjoys spending time with friends and family and continuing to build his skills in the HVAC trade.

Elijah joined the Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning team in 2023 and has quickly developed into a highly skilled installation technician. He has mastered the installation of a wide range of HVAC equipment and accessories, along with ductwork fabrication and installation, where precision and craftsmanship are essential.

In addition to installation work, Elijah is rapidly expanding his skills in troubleshooting and service, allowing him to better understand how systems operate in real-world conditions and how to diagnose issues when they arise. This well-rounded approach helps ensure the systems he installs perform reliably long after the job is complete.

Elijah is known for his attention to detail and commitment to doing things the right way. Most recently, he passed both the NATE Core and NATE Gas Heating exams, becoming Harley’s most recent NATE-certified technician—a reflection of his technical knowledge and dedication to continued professional growth.

Alex joined the Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning team in 2022 and has grown into a dependable and detail-oriented installation technician. He has developed strong skills installing a wide range of HVAC equipment and accessories, along with ductwork fabrication and installation, where accuracy and airflow design are critical.

Alex has also perfected duct cleaning and dryer vent cleaning, helping homeowners improve system efficiency, indoor air quality, and safety. His thorough, methodical approach ensures these services are performed correctly and with attention to detail.

Alex has successfully passed the NATE Core exam, an important milestone toward full NATE certification, and continues to expand his technical knowledge through hands-on experience and ongoing training. His steady approach and commitment to quality workmanship make him a valued member of Harley’s team.

Richard is the newest member of the Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning installation team, bringing with him decades of experience in ductwork fabrication and installation. His deep background in custom duct design and hands-on craftsmanship adds immediate strength to Harley’s installation capabilities.

Richard specializes in building and installing duct systems that are properly sized, sealed, and designed for long-term performance. His experience helps ensure air is delivered efficiently and consistently throughout the home—an often overlooked but critical part of comfort and system reliability.

As he integrates into the Harley’s team, Richard’s expertise supports both new installations and system upgrades, helping maintain the company’s high standards for quality workmanship.

Mr. Mosley joined the Harley’s Heating & Air Conditioning team four years ago and takes his role as Head of Security very seriously. As a Mini Australian Shepherd, he is responsible for monitoring office activity, greeting visitors, and ensuring no suspicious behavior goes unnoticed—especially near treat storage areas.

While small in stature, Mr. Mosley is big on awareness and loyalty. He maintains a vigilant watch over the shop, provides morale support to the team, and excels at reminding everyone when it’s time for breaks. His presence helps keep the workplace friendly, calm, and secure.

Outside of work, Mr. Mosley enjoys walks, playtime, and spending time with his friends. He is widely regarded as a very good boy.
